EUROPE, AROUND THE BORDERS
Europe, around the borders, è un progetto che vuole raccontare i confini europei. Alcuni di questi non sono che dei punti simbolici dove sopravvivono le tracce di un recente passato. Altri invece, sono un dispiegamento di recinzioni, forze di polizia e postazioni di sorveglianza. Punti caldi, come Melilla, dove gli esseri umani si guadagnano da vivere trasportando merci tra le reti divisorie e punti freddi, come Basilea, dove esistono strutture ormai in disuso, a ricordo di una superata identità nazionale.
Europe, around the borders, is a photography project that aims to tell about the european borders. Some of these borders are just symbolic spots were traces of a recent past are surviving. Others are only a deployment of enclosures, policemen and surveillance posts. There are hotspots like Melilla, were human beings are carrying goods back and forth between fences for a living. And there are cool spots like Basel, where abandoned facilities lie around, remindersof an out dated national identity.
